Basic Cooked Rice

1 cup long grain rice
1 1/2 cups water

In a medium saucepan, bring the rice and water to a boil on medium heat
(about 4).
When the water is boiling, turn the heat down to medium-low (about 3).
Half-cover the pot with the lid.
Continue cooking on medium-low until you can see holes or "craters" in the rice.
Put the lid on tight. Turn the heat down to low and simmer for 15 more minutes.

Fluff up the rice, and serve.
